Take a deep breath and get ready for a calming meditation, presented by Activia. Designed to settle you from the inside out, this episode of PS Fit will allow you to practice slowing down and bringing your awareness inside.
Yoga instructor Frances Flores begins with a few gentle stretches from a seated position to connect body and mind. Flores then introduces box breathing, a simple technique where you inhale for the count of four, hold your breath for the count of four, exhale for the count of four and then hold for the count of four. This intentional breathing can help lower your stress levels as you invite in peace and exhale restlessness.
As Flores guides you through rounds of breathwork, you may notice a shift in your mindset as you start to feel more centered. After 10 minutes, you’ll finish with a few mindful moments to feel your heart beat, come back to your room, and take in any sounds that might be present. This is an opportunity to notice any changes that may have occurred in your body or mind.
You’ll conclude the practice by expressing gratitude for yourself for taking time to connect to your breath and body. This is a session you’ll want to add to your regular routine to invite more clarity and calmness into your day. Press play and get ready to relax and let go of any tension that may be affecting your body. And if you enjoyed Flores’s class, check out new workouts on the PS Fitness YouTube channel.
