Well, maybe we shouldn’t have made such a big deal about donuts, because it took them like 20 minutes to come up with this pretty tasty recipe. The Quest Test Kitchen has given us a recipe that features Quest Chocolate Milkshake Protein powder, Vanilla Protein Powder, & Frosted Cookies and may have also unlocked forces far beyond our understanding. Ingredients
QUESTIFIED CHOCOLATE STRAWBERRY DONUTS
Ingredients:
- 1 cup almond flour
- 2 tbsp gluten free baking flour
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp zero calorie sweetener
- 1 tbsp unsweetened special dark cocoa powder
- ½ scoop Quest Chocolate Milkshake Protein powder
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp baking soda
- ⅛ tsp salt
- ⅓ cup almond milk, room temperature
- 3 tbsp coconut oil, melted
- 1 egg, room temperature
- 2 tbsp egg whites, room temperature
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Frosting:
Method
- Preheat the oven to 350 F and prepare a 2.5” donut pan with non-stick spray.
- In a bowl, stir together the flours, cocoa powders, sweetener, protein powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
- Whisk in the milk, butter, eggs and vanilla until smooth.
- Transfer the mixture to a plastic zip bag and cut the corner to create a piping bag.
- Fill the cavities of 8 of the donut molds.
- Bake the donuts for 14-15 minutes and cooked through. Let cool.
- In a bowl, heat up the almond milk and coconut oil in the microwave until smooth and then stir in the protein and powdered freeze dried strawberries until it makes a glaze-like consistency.
- Dip each of the donuts in the mixture and top with frosted cookie pieces.
